GSI and AGCO Agreement
OCTOBER 3, 2011 - GSI Group has entered into a definitive merger agreement with AGCO (NYSE: AGCO). Committed to global growth and delivering a robust offering of agricultural equipment and systems to customers, the two companies plan to close the transaction by the end of 2011.
This is good news for GSI customers, dealers, suppliers and associates. AGCO is a $6.9 billion agricultural company with strong international distribution and well-known brands. Similar to GSI, AGCO is a technology leader and has a deep commitment to lean manufacturing practices. GSI's rich tradition continues as part of the AGCO family.
BASLC Hosts Patent Award Ceremony
MARCH 2011 - GSI Group, LLC has over 60 patents under it’s belt. Over half of the patents are on display in the new Innovation Hall in the Burl A. Shuler Learning Center. Awards on display are actively used in our product line up.
The ceremony, hosted February 4, 2011, celebrated the patents and recognized the employees that developed them. On that day 14 employees were recognized for 21 of the patents. They were: Ronald Bestwick(3); Jeff Decker(2); Randy Sheley; Virgil Rhodes; Gary Woodruff; Don Duecker; Shawn Damery; David Morrison(3); John Frankovich(2); Mike Watson(6); Tom Stuthman; Brett Crider; Bruce Slankard; James Adermann(3).

Sales and Service Training at the BASLC
FEBRUARY 2011 - The time has finally come! After a nice, relaxing winter, the Burl A. Shuler Learning Center is ready to commence sales and service training. Thank you to all dealers who attended training in 2010. The post-course surveys have been reviewed and implemented. The courses have been revamped and streamlined, delivering more bang for the buck.
Beginning in February, technical training will run every second and third week of the month on Monday through Thursday. This training will be more hands-on than ever, including work with live product, servicing, troubleshooting and assembling.
Product sales training will begin the first full week of every month on Tuesday through Wednesday. All classes have been updated with a variety of equipment props.
Modular tower dryer construction courses will be offered March 21, April 18, May 16 and June 20. These courses are offered the Monday before service training allowing dealers to double up on training in one trip. Save time and money by adding both of these training sessions to your service and construction team’s lineup.
The GSI Group Snapshot will continue to run the second Tuesday of every month at 10am CST. This is a remote learning course via webinar. If you cannot attend the scheduled event, the recordings are posted on the portal within 24-hours of the Snapshot. Just click the Notices page and select the link to view.
